In 1912 the Tigers recruited some replacement players to play against the defending World Series Champions. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t go very well. This is the story of that catholic priest pitcher, a bunch of fellows, and the worst game score in MLB history. Inspired by Jon Bois/Secret Base.

With Charlie Finley in charge of the Kansas City A’s, the team and games themselves often seemed to be a side note. He left his mark on Major League Baseball, provided us with stories we had to double check were true, and helped show us that baseball may not always be so simple.
